Restore the roof you have. Skip the one you don't need.

A well-executed restoration on a structurally sound roof routinely adds ten to fifteen years of life — at roughly a third of the cost of a full replacement.

What restoration includes

Restoration is more than a coat of paint. The bulk of the work is invisible from the ground — repointing failed mortar, replacing the half dozen tiles every old roof has lost over the years, and treating the moss and lichen that thrive in our humidity.

  • High-pressure clean of the entire roof surface
  • Replacement of broken or missing tiles (matched as closely as possible)
  • Removal of failing mortar bedding from ridge and hip lines
  • Re-bedding with flexible polymer pointing compound
  • Application of anti-fungal sealant to inhibit moss regrowth
  • Two coats of UV-stable acrylic membrane in your chosen colour
  • Inspection of valleys, flashings and gutter joints — sealed where needed

When restoration is the right call

Restoration suits roofs between 10 and 25 years old where the underlying tiles are still sound. If the truss timber is weakened, the underlay membrane has failed, or you can already see daylight in patches from inside the attic, full replacement is the safer recommendation — and we will tell you so.

How long does it take?

For a single-storey terrace house, restoration typically runs three to five working days. A double-storey detached home usually takes five to seven, weather permitting. We work around the rain — never on it.

Common questions

Restoration FAQs

Can restoration genuinely extend my roof's life?

Yes, provided the underlying structure is sound. We have re-inspected restorations from 2017 that look almost untouched — the key is starting from a roof that is worth restoring in the first place.

Will the new coating change the colour of my roof?

You choose. We can match the existing tone closely or take the opportunity to update the look — the membrane is available in roughly thirty colours.

Does the work need to be repeated periodically?

Light maintenance every seven to ten years keeps the surface performing. We share a simple maintenance note with every project.
